<thechhattisgarh.com> reported on Jan 16: The Chhattisgarh BJP learnt a lesson from Gujarat to retain in power after the coming assembly election as Narendra Modi came back third time in Gujarat. With an eye to the assembly polls later this year, Chhattisgarh's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has smothered the state's 15 cities with saffron flags and banners on the eve of the launch Wednesday of a scheme to provide rice at Rs.3 a kg to 3.4 million poor families,”
As many as 15 top ranking BJP leaders, including party president Rajnath Singh and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, will launch the Rs.8 billion ($206 million) a year Chief Minister's Food Security Scheme at 15 cities simultaneously. Sushma Swaraj could not reach in Raipur as scheduled. So Rajnath Singh delivered his speech in Raipur after Bilaspur. There is a huge gathering in both public meetings.
The BJP government in Chhattisgarh on Jan 16 launched a scheme providing rice at Rs 3 per kg to 65 per cent population of the state.
The scheme will benefit 34 lakh families classified as "poor" in an official survey, which constitute 65 per cent of the total population of the state, Chief Minister Raman Singh said.
Former and present CMs of BJP such as Narendra Modi, Vasundhara Raje, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, B C Khanduri and Deputy CM of Bihar Sushil Modi and former Deputy CM of Maharashtra Gopinath Munde were also launched the scheme in various places of Chhattisgarh. They decided to follow the Gujarat path of development.
* Rs 3/kg rice distribution is ‘Chhal’ for Congress
Chhattisgarh Statre Congress President Charan Das Mahant in his press conference at Raigarh called the Mukhya Mantri Khadyan Sahayta Yojana as a election propaganda and said that if Congress comes to power, it would provide rice to the poor at Rs 2/kg. But he did not clarify why Congress would not provide the same when it was ruled in Chhattisgarh.
Mahant added that BJP governments this scheme could be a plot to benefit rice mill owners. But he could not clarify then why he said that if Congress would be power then it would also provide Rs 2/kg rice. He gave more assurance of giving Rs 100 to tendu leaf collectors instead of 50 which they are getting now.
Result of the press conference is that BJP government is doing, and Congress is promising to do which it could not do in its tenure.
Congress through Shivraj Patil throws again the google of minority card. Another card of Congress is ‘divide Uttar Pradesh’. <newslinkage.com> published a report titled ‘Rahul Gandhi sees his future in Bundelkhand’. NDA in the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave three new provinces: Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Congress showed first victory in newly state Chhattisgarh. But faced defeat in 2003 due to non performance. The same happened in Uttarakhand. How Jharkhand is ruled by Congress behind back door, all knows this.
In Rajasthan Congress through Gujjar leader Sachin Pilot evokes Gujjar community for getting Reservation. Congress thinks that it would win in Rajasthan to play the caste based Quota policy.
In MP, Congress dreams to win after framing fake corruption charges on Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
Congress wants to win Orissa with the support of naxalites and Christians. Kandhamal violence is the example of that.
In Bundelkhand Congress thinks that by promising separate Bundelkhand, it would win the 2009 election throughout Uttarpradesh.
The story of other provinces is not different.
As reported by media ‘Quota for minorities being considered’ said by Shivraj Patil on Jan 16. He evoked minority community against equal opportunity for all, to say in State Minority Conference that the government was exploring the possibility of providing reservation to minorities in educational institutions and jobs.
As for the definition of ‘minority’ — a contentious issue in several States — Mr. Singh was guarded, stating that it was defined in the national perspective with inputs from States for the benefit of precision. However, he refused to elaborate saying that it could generate a controversy. Means Congress led UPA Government has no definition of Minority. They have freedom to define ‘Minority’, ‘Secularism and ‘tainted’ etc according to their convenience. Our elections are fought on the basis of caste, creed, group, religion, and money and muscle power. It is difficult to stop tainted persons from fighting elections when we can’t even define who is tainted and who is not. So called seculars say these are seculars and those are not seculars. Though there is no definition of secularism. Every one defines it as per his convenience. The term “tainted” should be defined through a bill passed by 3/4 th majority of the parliament, approved by the President and thereafter taught politicians the meaning in a language that they can understand. It is a shame that people at large know its meaning but politicians do not.

Talking about secularism Modi described how its definition had morphed along the years. “There was a time when secularism meant religious harmony, later it became lip sympathy to the minorities, and then appeasement of minorities... As for me development is the strongest foundation of secularism as it would benefit the poorest of the poor,” Modi said inviting a huge applause in Kamraj hall of Chennai.
