Chidambram’s love for “kutta, billi” (cats and dogs) may have
endeared him to animal lover and BJP MP Maneka Gandhi, but his lack
of concern for “aam admi” has got the goat of Left MPs. It also
triggered some uncharitable comments in Parliament corridor, such as
“Congress ka haath, kutta billi ka saath.”
The FM announced a 10 per
cent excise duty cut on pet foods, saying “I have good news for cat
and dog lovers. I propose to reduce the duty on pet foods from 30 to
20 per cent.”

Minister Lalu Prasad too was critical about Chidambaram’s love for
“kutta, billi”.Expressing concern that the budget had ignored the
large number of suicides by distressed farmers, CPI leader in Lok
Sabha Gurudas Dasgupta, Forward Block chief Debabrata Biswas and CPM
politburo member Sitaram Yechury took potshots at the Finance
Minister. An unsavory comment by Jairam Ramesh, minister of state
for commerce to a TV channel - “Let the Left members eat pet foods”
- only compounded the Left’s belligerence.

Some intellectuals say
that Congress leaders have always Jai Jai for their imported leader
but first time two central ministers showed their love for dogs and
cats. Leftists are supporting Congress led UPA. Sitaram Yechury and
other CPI(M) leaders only criticize the government for its policies
but they never bite it. Is this reason Finance Minister announced a
10 per cent excise duty cut on pet foods so number of dogs can be
increased? It is coincidence that this happened in the India’s IT
Hub Bangalore where with in two months two children died because of
the dog biting. The number of dogs is increased there.

“At a time when aam admi finds dal costly, the Finance Minister is
exulting over the fact that he is reducing prices of food for pets,”
said Advani. Sushma Swaraj said: “Aadmi ka khana mehenga, kutte ka
khana sasta (man’s meals are costlier, pet food cheaper).” She added
that Chidambaram had broken farmers’ spirit.
Stray dogs 'kill another child'
Stray dogs have killed a
three-year-old boy in
Bangalore
today. The death led to protests by irate residents
over what they say is the failure of the civic authorities to
control an estimated 70,000 strays. Police said that the boy was
bitten by a pack of dogs near his home. It is the second child death
blamed on stray dogs in the same colony of the city recently.

"It is very unfortunate. It is bad for

's image," said Karnataka state Health Minister R Ashok. Mr
Ashok was mobbed by protesting residents after the incident, along
with Bangalore Corporation Commissioner K Jairaj. The residents
were demonstrating to demand a cull of stray dogs; whose
population they say has mushroomed in recent years.
They demanded the closure
of illegal mutton and chicken shops which they say attracts packs of
dogs looking for left-over meat. The shops have been accused of
dumping waste meat onto the streets.

child was attacked but escaped with injuries.
Mr Jairaj said that
mobile squads have now been set up "to crackdown" on illegal mutton
and chicken shops in and around
Bangalore
.
Civic authorities had
earlier ordered a cull of all diseased strays, but the campaign was
opposed by animal activists. "There are so many other things that
the municipal authorities should look after," said Dilip Bafna, a
trustee of the Animal Rights Fund.
Dog bites man and that mad man bites

I heard and read that
if man bites dog then it becomes the news. But if dog bites man
and that mad man bites other men then what we have to say? There
was news on Star News TV channel that a mad dog bitted a man.
Later the man became mad and started to bite others. So for the
safety purpose the man was rapped by the ropes on the bed.
Who said ‘Netaji’ dog?
There is news of

Sniffer Dog of Bush Security Force

I recall uproar in
Lok Sabha on Marrch 3, 2006. Uproarious scenes were
witnessed over the
US
security personnel taking their sniffer dog on the pathway
around Mahatma Gandhi' Samadhi at Rajghat just before US
President George W Bush's arrival to pay his obeisance. Waving a
newspaper, Rajiv Ranjan Singh of the Janata Dal-United said,
"The government has lowered the national prestige and they
should apologize."

not in favor of death penalty. Why he did not comment like that
when Dhanajay Chatterjee was being hanged? Why not he forces his
party for putting a bill for removing the death penalty as they
did for POTTA?
Why not Rashtrapati Awards to
sniffer detection dogs

awards from Rashtrapati. Are sniffer dogs job is not liable for
awarding? A detection dog is a dog that is trained to and
works at using its senses (almost always the sense
of smell) to detect substances such as explosives or illegal
drugs. Hunting dogs that search for game and search dogs that
search for missing humans are generally not considered detection
dogs. There is some overlap in cases like cadaver dogs that
detect human remains.
