Government increases the price of cow dung fertilizer, women self-help groups will benefit

The Chhattisgarh government has increased the minimum selling rate of vermi compost produced in Gothanas from Rs 8 per kg to a minimum of Rs 10 per kg. This will benefit women self-help groups engaged in Gothan management. On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Commissioner of Agricultural Production has issued an order in this regard.

Under the Suraji village scheme of the Chhattisgarh government, cow dung is being purchased in 4,487 of the 6,430 Gothans in the state.

So far, 44 thousand stitches have been manufactured at Gothano to make vermi compost from purchased cow dung. Now 16 thousand stitches are being made. So far, 8000 quintal vermi compost has been produced in the state. 1000 quintal vermi compost has been sold in it.

Thousands of women self-help groups of the state are working to prepare vermicompost from cow dung in Gothan. The increase in the minimum sale rate of vermi compost will increase their income. Under this scheme, the government is also planning to set up a laboratory for testing the quality of vermi compost in every district of the state.
