The 72nd Republic Day of the country was celebrated with great enthusiasm at NTPC Korba. Chief guest manager Korba hoisted the flag at Banswarup Basu, the chief guest at the Mansarovar Stadium. The parade of central industrial security personnel took the salute. He thanked all the employees for making the Korba plant NTPC’s number 1 plant, remembering NTPC’s achievements during this period and the enhanced performance during the lock down on behalf of the Korba plant. Bishwaroop Basu said that till December, NTPC Korba produced 15990 million units of power with 93.18 percent plant load factor, which is the first in NTPC. Today, NTPC has an installed capacity of 63785 MW, which is meeting the country’s energy needs through 70 power plants. NTPC has set a target of achieving 30 percent of its capacity from renewable sources by 2032 as per its ambitious plan. Continuing its glorious journey, NTPC has achieved the title of the country’s best employer in the 2020 Forbes list of public enterprises in the world. During this time, NTPC Korba received several awards such as the country’s best thermal power plant title. The Greentech Environment Award has been presented for advanced environmental management.
