The Congress party was so crude and brazen in this regard naming that it had tried to derive political mileage even out of the tsunami tragedy by naming the scheme of financial package for tsunami affected people after Rajiv Gandhi. Is Congress also going to naming the probable scheme related to the financial package for checking spot fixing tsunami?

The spot-fixing tsunami threatens to sweep the top brass of the BCCI after the name of board president N Srinivasan's son-in law Gurunath Meiyappan cropped up May 22, 2013 during police's investigation into the case.

As on today, the name trending on social networking sites and perhaps most searched-for in relation to the spot-fixing saga that’s engulfed Indian Premier League is Gurunath Meiyappan, the CEO and team principal of Chennai Super Kings.

Gurunath is married to Srinivasan's daughter Rupa who is the director of India Cements - the company that owns IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings and lists Srinivasan as its Vice Chariman and Managing Director. Gurunath is also the Team Principal and CEO of Chennai Super Kings.

Gurunath hails from an affluent South Indian family that owns AVM - a high-profile film and TV serial production house of South India. He is the son of AVM Balasubramanian who is the brother of AVM Saravanan.

Investigation in the fixing scandal is getting murkier day by day. CSK owned by BCCI Chief Srinivasan is going to play the final match of IPL season 6 on Sunday, May 26. The match would be spoilt if links between its owner and bookies are unearthed. Mumbai Police official, however, claimed that it was "too premature" to conclude that the relative of the high-profile owner of the Chennai franchise had links with the betting syndicate.

The involvement of Gurunath in the spot-fixing scandal emerged after the arrest of Vindoo Dara Singh on Tuesday. Vindoo reportedly placed several bets on behalf of Gurunath. Earlier on Wednesday, reports emerged that Vindoo had made several calls to a Chennai number and admitted to being in touch with a relative of the CSK franchise owner. Police sources, however, say there is no evidence of spot-fixing against Gurunath, but only of heavy betting, which is illegal.

Who is Gurunath Meiyappan?

Well, he the son-in-law of BCCI’s politically well-connected president N Srinivasan who’s India Cements owns CSK.

Gurunath is married to Srinivasan’s daughter Rupa who is the director of India Cements and lists Srinivasan as its Vice Chairman and Managing Director.

Now Gurunath isn’t any regular guy Srini’s daughter fell in love with and got married. He, in fact, hails from one of the most affluent South Indian families that owns the popular AVM – a high profile film and TV serial production house of South India.

Gurunath is the son of AVM Balasubramanian who is the brother of AVM Saravanan, the man responsible for the mega production house.

The involvement of cash-rich Gurunath in the spot fixing saga emerged after the arrest of Vindoo Dara Singh on Tuesday. Vindoo reportedly placed several bets on behalf of Gurunath. Earlier on Wednesday, reports emerged that Vindoo had made several calls to a Chennai number and admitted to being in touch with a relative of the CSK franchise owner.

It was revealed that Mumbai police would question Chennai Supre Kings owner N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan for his alleged role in spot-fixing. Meiyappan was the man Vindoo Dara Singh, who was arrested on Tuesday, was in constant touch over phone.

Gurunath Meiyappan is the Team Principal and CEO of the Chennai Super Kings.

According to sources, BCCI chief and Chennai Supre Kings owner N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan is the relative Vindoo Dara Singh was in touch with.

The call details of Vindoo showed that he made several phone calls to the relative of the CSK owner. It was learnt that Vindoo had an easy access to CSK VIP box during their IPL matches.

The police, according to sources, are examining that how Vindoo became close to the CSK team and how he got the access to the team so easily.

Earlier on Tuesday, Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh, had been arrested in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal.

"Vindoo was questioned after he was found to be in contact with the bookies and subsequently arrested today," an official said without revealing further details.

49-year-old Vindoo, winner of reality television show Bigg Boss season 3, was on many occasions spotted watching IPL matches and attending post-match parties.

His arrest is the first from Bollywood in connection with the latest scandal to hit Indian cricket.

Rupa Gurunath W7wife of Gurunath Meiyappan is the daughter of the BCCI Chief and the owner of the CSK Chennai Srinivasan.

"Of course, my husband has always been a strong pillar of support in enabling me to pursue my dreams," she adds. In her five years at India Cements, she says there hasn't ever been a dull moment, thanks to the advice her father gave her on never being afraid of asking questions and looking ignorant.

"You cannot be expected to know everything. There are experts in each field to guide you and the important thing is to take a decision based on the assessment of information given to you." This is the very advice that helps Gurunath in running her empire.

No matter whom you are in the office, Gurunath, 38, daughter of India Cements' vice chairman and managing director, N Srinivasan, greets you with the same disarming smile and a warm hello. One picture that does stand out in her office in RA Puram, Chennai, is of her with her husband, Gurunath Meiyappan of AVM, one of the oldest and leading film and TV production houses in the south. Both are dressed in bright yellow Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jerseys, holding the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2011 trophy.

Is there in spot fixing in IPL any link of Vinoo Dara Singhà Sakhi DhuniàShilpa Shettyà Rajiv Shuklaà Shashi Tharoor to 10 Jan Path?

National son in law Robert Vadra is above law. So probe can’t be initiated on DLF Vadra Scam.  There is a probe on the involvement of Srinivasan’s son in law in the IPL spot fixing. This is the difference between being the son-in-law of Italian citizen holder and being the son-in-law of an Indian BCCi Chief Srinivasan!
