AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi on May 5, 09 said it (Quattrocchi) is a “dead issue” which is repeatedly raised ahead of every election.

“It is an embarrassment (that it is raised repeatedly). It is a dead issue. It is repeatedly raised. It is finished. There is no interest (in the issue),” Gandhi told a press conference. “Every party which is in power could put pressure on institutions. It is a fact,” he added.

Action on Liberhan Report but not on Q issue  

The Congress on June 30, 09 said Government will take appropriate action on the report of Liberhan Commission which probed the 1992 demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. "The Commission has submitted its report.

"There are documents with the CBI showing that Quattrocchi received USD 7.32 million. The documents have been given by the Swiss authorities themselves," the former CBI Director Joginder Singh, who brought the documents from Switzerland, told PTI on April 25, 2009. Joginder Singh  claimed that the documents were with the government and the CBI and also part of records in Delhi High Court.

Indian Express reported: RSS on Tuesday said the incident of December 6, 1992 was a result of the "pent up anger" of the people and to hold individual leaders responsible would be "political fallacy." "To try to hold some individual leaders responsible for that would be absolute political fallacy and only a political conspiracy," RSS leader Ram Madhav told a news channel. "I will only reiterate that what happened in December 1992 in Ayodhya was a result of the pent up anger due to the omissions and commissions of the government at Delhi. Their blunders ... took the shape of the incident on December six," he said.

The Congress on June 30 thanked Justice (retd) MS Liberhan for his probe report on the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition while the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticised the commission for taking 17 years to submit the report.
