Constitution Day celebrated at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University

Constitution Day was celebrated today at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel administered the Constitution Day oath to the professors, employees and students of the university. He wrote to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. B.R. By garlanding Ambedkar’s picture, he bowed down to his contribution in the making of the Indian Constitution. The Preamble of the Indian Constitution was read out on this occasion. Vice Chancellor Dr. Chandel said on the occasion that the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of the country on 26 November 1949 and it was implemented on 26 January 1950. He said that where we have been given many rights by the Indian Constitution, we have also been given various duties and responsibilities. Respecting the basic spirit of the Indian Constitution, we should protect our rights as well as perform our duties and responsibilities with honesty and integrity. On this occasion, the winners of the Rangoli, Poster, Speech, Essay and Quiz competitions organized by the Agriculture College, Raipur were also rewarded. The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. K.L. Nandeha and Dean Student Welfare Dr. G.K. Srivastava also addressed.
