On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, yoga was practiced at various places in Balod district on the theme ‘Yoga for Humanity’. District level yoga program was organized in the courtyard of Ganga Maiya temple located in village Jhalmala near district headquarter Balod. Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia attended the program as the chief guest. On this occasion, Minister Smt. Bhendia congratulated the people of the state on International Yoga Day and appealed to include yoga in their daily routine. Addressing the program, Smt. Bhendia said that Yoga has been going on in Indian culture since time immemorial. Yoga is important for all stages of life. By doing yoga, meditation continuously, one gets freedom from physical and mental diseases. The body and mind remain healthy. Sanjari-Balod MLA Smt. Sangeeta Sinha and Collector Shri Janmejay Mahobe also participated in the collective yoga practice on International Yoga Day. On this occasion, President of Janpad Panchayat Balod Smt.
