Union Joint Secretary Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry Kunal Kumar reviewed Smart City projects in the State capital on Thursday. Kumar stressed that maximum work orders of Smart City should be issued in February month.
Kumar reviewed projects city wise. He asked to make area based development of Bhopal as role model and to work in this regard. He praised Jabalpur’s non-motorised transportation project. Kunal Kumar also lauded river front development of Indore, Ujjain’s multi-model hub project etc. He also asked officers to send utility certificate of expenditure done till January 2019 so that next installment of concerned cities.
Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Pramod Agrawal gave necessary information about various works being done under Smart City project. The meeting was attended by CEO of all seven Smart Cities and officials of Urban Development and Housing Department.
UGC cancels admissions in 26 PG courses of Bhoj Open University
University Grants Commission (UGC), on Thursday, cancelled the admissions in 26 Post Graduate courses of MP Bhoj (open) University during session 2018-19, leaving students in a fix.
The commission has also directed to refund the fee amount submitted by students through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS). There are about 20,000 students enrolled in these courses. The university will be refunding about Rs 4 crore to these students after cancelling their admission. At present, Bhoj University is running post graduation in 40 courses, but it failed to maintain the faculties as per UGC norms.
