Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Antagarh tape case has fast tracked its investigation and the probe team reached Pakhanjur in Kanker district on Sunday to interrogate Manturam Pawar, the key person in the bribery case linked to an assembly bypoll.

A highly placed official confirmed that he was reportedly quizzed at his residence for a couple of hour in isolation and no one was permitted to enter the room. The official however, denied providing details citing the reason that it might affect the probe.

Meanwhile, the official also hinted that some bigwigs that include former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, his son Amit Jogi and Punit Gupta, son-in-law of former Chief Minister Raman Singh might be interrogated soon.Notable, as anticipatory bail plea of Manturam and Punit was rejected by the lower court recently. Also, the other day SIT interrogated State General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee Girish Dewangan and he reportedly handed over a sealed envelope to the SIT.
