inaugurated the Minimata Smriti air-conditioned building through video conferencing a humble tribute to the first woman MP of Chhattisgarh on her death anniversary
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that Minimata, the first woman MP of Chhattisgarh, devoted her entire life to uplift the human society and empower women. Minimata was a symbol of social reforms. The Government of Chhattisgarh is following the ideals of Minimata and doing women upliftment. We have to make Chhattisgarh prosperous only by following his ideals. On the death anniversary of Minimata, Chief Minister garlanded her portrait at her residence here today and paid her humble tribute and expressed her views to this effect. On the occasion, Mr. Baghel inaugurated the newly constructed Miniata Smriti air-conditioned building at a cost of about Rs 44 lakhs at the Cultural Building Complex at New Rajendra Nagar through video conferencing from his Raipur residence. The program was chaired by Urban Administration and Labor Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria did it. The program was organized by Guru Ghasidas Sahitya and Sanskriti Academy and the entire Satnami society.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Chhattisgarh is remembering Mamatamayi Maa Minimata with full reverence on her memorial day today. Minimata also contributed to the freedom struggle. He did remarkable work in the area of social evils, untouchability, child marriage, poverty, eradication of dowry. She took the initiative herself to remove the suffering of the people and bring them justice. They buried, crushed, Raised the voice of the exploited society. He played a major role in the passage of the Prevention of Untouchability Act in Parliament. Mr. Baghel said that Minimata will always be remembered for the work done for the upliftment of Dalits and women. To make Minimata’s contribution everlasting, the Hasdev Bango Dam in Chhattisgarh was named after Minimata. The Government of Chhattisgarh launched the Minimata Amrit Dhara Yojana to provide pure drinking water from door to door in villages. On this occasion, the Chief Minister assured prompt action on various demands presented by the representatives of the society in sympathetic consideration.
Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, present at the Chief Minister’s residence, said on the occasion that the Government of Chhattisgarh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, is making all efforts for the development of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and the poor. The state government is working towards fulfilling the dreams of the great men of the state, including Minimata, the symbol of identity of Chhattisgarh. Mayor of the Municipal Corporation Raipur Mr. Ejaz Dhebar also addressed the special guest of the program from the venue. Shri KP Khande, President of Guru Ghasidas Literature and Culture Academy and Satnami Society, placed various demands of the society. Dr. Dahria also presented a memento to the Chief Minister.
