Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh has achieved the highest position in the country in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Narendra Tomar today awarded the Bilaspur district for this glorious achievement in a program organized in New Delhi on the occasion of completion of two years of this scheme. Collector of Bilaspur, Dr. Summary Mitter and State Nodal Officer of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Shri G.K. Nirmam received this award. Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Kailash Chaudhary was also present at the award ceremony.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the state government is working with full sincerity and honesty for the welfare of farmers. Our top priority is to enrich the farming and farmers of the state. This award received at the national level symbolizes that the state of Chhattisgarh is moving towards becoming a role model of the country in the field of farmer welfare.
On completion of two years of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, the best performing states and districts in the country were rewarded. Bilaspur is the number one district in the country in terms of Aadhaar authentication of farmers and benefiting them. In the district, 9310 farmers have been given the benefit of the scheme by making Aadhaar authentication. It is noteworthy that Bilaspur district has also received national recognition for water conservation. In the year 2019, Bilaspur district was awarded the National Water Award for the conservation and restoration of rivers.
