The district administration is constantly experimenting to bring the folk art, artistry, culture, tourism and other local arts of Bastar to the world. Although Bastar art country is already famous in the world, but its benefits are rarely available to local artists. Demand for Bastar art is tremendous in other countries as well as other states, but due to lack of knowledge of marketing nuances, craftsmen are not able to get a fair price for their hard work.
Keeping the spirit of Amcho Bastar at the center, the district administration is constantly experimenting. In which the women group is being trained in manufacturing, unique design, marketing, accounting and making them attractive and market-oriented materials and value added products are being made. Currently, for the marketing of the products of the women’s group, contracts have been signed with other related institutions including TRIFED, Bastar Kala Gudi, Tribal Tokni, Loka Bazar, Software, Pankhudi Seva Samiti, Amcho Bastar Bazaar, which are also getting good returns.
In Bastar these days, women associated with the group are engaged in doing value addition in artworks. Bamboo art, soil art, terracotta, tumba art, seasal art, handmade incense sticks and incense sticks and Dhokra craft have further enhanced the possibilities with the new designs of the past.
Bastar Collector Rajat Bansal informed that good demand is coming for the products of traditional and new designs. The promotion of products in social and digital platforms has also led to an increase in sales. We are constantly working to strengthen the marketing system. There is also a plan of the district administration to link Bastar handicrafts tourism, under this, in the main tourist places, subordinate shops will be opened, in which all artifacts of Bastar will be kept for observation and sale
This initiative of the district administration will give a new direction and direction to the Bastar handicrafts where the direction is lost and the handicraftsmen are sure to continue to work and increase their livelihood. With this initiative, the new generation will also show their interest in Bastar handicrafts for livelihood.
