A weekly program was launched in the district with the aim of spreading awareness on World Suicide Prevention Day. For this campaign, which will run from September 6 to September 11, a chariot was sent from the district hospital for publicity on Monday. The program was inaugurated by Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. BR Pujari, Civil Surgeon cum District Hospital Superintendent Dr. MK Suryavanshi, District Program Manager Dr. Priya Kanwar by flagging off the chariot. The main objective of the Awareness Rath is to make people who attempt suicide aware of mental health. CMHO Dr. BR Pujari said, “This chariot has been sent for awareness about suicide prevention, so that patients suffering from mental health related problems will be made aware. He said that every year 10 September is celebrated as World Suicide Prevention Day. The theme of this year’s World Suicide Prevention Day is “Creating Hope Through Action”. In this sequence, it has been decided to celebrate 6 to 11 September as World Suicide Prevention Week with the aim of spreading awareness about mental health services under the National Mental Health Program in the district. Various activities and programs will be organized in the district. On September 6, training of suicide prevention and gatekeeper will be given to the ashram superintendents. Suicide Prevention Awareness Program for 16 Corps Battalion on 7th Sept. On September 8, a suicide prevention awareness program and free mental health camp will be organized for the villagers at Health Wellness Center Garhbangal. On September 10, a free mental health camp will be organized at District Hospital Narayanpur and a signature campaign program on the concept of Zindagi Choo Vijeta Bano. On September 11, a suicide prevention awareness program and free mental health camp will be organized for the villagers at Health and Wellness Center Bijli. Suicide attempts to be identified During World Suicide Prevention Week, mental patients who have attempted suicide will be specifically identified. After identification, such people will be counseled by mental pathologists and their treatment will also be started.
