June 2022 / The meeting of the State Level Committee constituted by the Government of Chhattisgarh to review the Addiction Campaign was held under the chairmanship of Director Social Welfare Shri P. Dayanand at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here today. In the meeting, the proposal of an action plan worth Rs. 9 crore 97 lakh 31 thousand 795 was approved for drug de-addiction campaign (Bharat Mata Vahini Yojana). Under the action plan, with the help of various publicity media, programs will be run on a large scale for de-addiction. Under this, training of the members of Bharat Mata Vahini and other promotional programs will be organized. In the meeting, the members gave important suggestions for running an effective drug de-addiction campaign through Bharat Mata Vahini in all the villages of the state. Discussion was held in detail regarding the work of Bharat Mata Vahini to run a campaign for drug de-addiction in the villages falling under all the gram panchayats in the state. The Director of Social Welfare Department said that cooperation of all the departments is required to run the liquor addiction de-addiction campaign effectively. Drug addiction is a social evil, it can be overcome only with the cooperation and coordination of all. It was told in the meeting that in order to check the habit of drinking intoxicants, rally in favor of drug de-addiction by women self-help groups in village panchayats, Prabhat Pheri, publicity of ill-effects of intoxication, slogans, wall writings, posters, Awareness programs will be organized through pamphlets, street plays. Extensive programs will be organized on different dates for drug de-addiction campaign. In this, on 26th January, 30th January, 31st May, 26th June, 15th August, 2nd October and 18th December, big programs of anti-drug Prabhat Pheri rally etc. will be held in the gram panchayats. Essay, speech, painting, short drama, singing competition etc. will be organized on drug de-addiction in educational institutions. In these programmes, the cooperation of the representatives of the Panchayats will be taken. With the cooperation of various institutions at the district, district and gram panchayat level, the cooperation of local institutions will be taken for active participation in counseling, yoga practice, incentive seminar, lecture etc. for drug de-addiction. It was informed in the meeting that four drug de-addiction centers in Raipur and Bhilai are being run by the social welfare department of the state government. The district level committee, headed by the collector of the concerned district, will supervise, monitor and monitor the effects of the implementation of the liquor de-addiction campaign in the state and its report will be made available to the Directorate of Social Welfare.
