Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai on his death anniversary on November 17. He said that Lala Lajpat Rai was one of the three main leaders Lal-Bal-Pal who gave direction to the freedom movement, he is also known as Punjab Kesari. On being injured in the lathi-charge during the protest against the Simon Commission, Lalaji had said that ‘each and every lathi lying on my body will act as a nail in the coffin of the British Government’. His words proved to be true and Lala ji’s sacrifice increased the yearning for freedom in the hearts of the people. Along with giving impetus to the freedom movement, Lala ji also played an important role in implementing and propagating Hindi language in the country.
