Congress President Rahul Gandhi will take a brief halt at Jagdalpur airport on Wednesday during his visit to Bhawanipatna in Odisha.
Gandhi had called state leadership to discuss strategy for Lok Sabha polls at Jagdalpur. Bhawanipatna is most backward area under Kalahandi region of Odisha where he would address a Kisan Rally.
As per party sources, the Congress president is arriving at district headquarters, Jagdalpur in a chartered plane. He would take a brief halt of about half an hour here.
Senior party leaders including Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will be present at Jagdalpur. Baghel will brief him on state of affairs in the state as well as the preparations being undertaken by the organizations regarding Lok Sabha elections slated by April/May.
Later, Baghel along with Industry Minister Kawasi Lakhma will also accompany Gandhi to Bhawanipatna through a chopper of air force.
The Congress leaders would try to convince the Odisha farmers that they too could be benefitted like the farmers in states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, if they vote for Congress in upcoming polls in Odisha.
