The next generation of OnePlus’s foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open 2, is now anticipated to launch in the second half of 2025, according to recent reports. This delay from the initially expected Q1 2025 release might disappoint some, considering the original OnePlus Open was released in October 2023.
The device is rumored to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a significant upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Speculated specifications also include a 2K+ resolution foldable screen, a 50MP triple camera setup with a possible circular periscope telephoto lens, and 3-stage wireless charging support. Design enhancements could include a narrower frame, a thinner and lighter build, and the use of plain leather and glass materials. However, these details remain unconfirmed.
