Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta, BJP MLA from Panki, Jharkhand, expressed his displeasure on social media after being denied a room at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi. Despite confirming the booking of two rooms in his name, he was informed at the reception that only one room was booked. The MLA then inquired about the occupancy of the rooms and whether any Jharkhand MLAs or ministers were staying there, but he received no satisfactory response. Frustrated with the management, he staged a protest by sitting on the floor at the reception and having his breakfast there. Mehta questioned the purpose of the Jharkhand Bhawan, built with crores of rupees by the Jharkhand government, if it could not accommodate its own MLAs. He urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take action against those responsible for the mismanagement of the Jharkhand Bhawan, ensuring it functions smoothly and is readily available for Jharkhand MLAs. The state-of-the-art Jharkhand Bhawan, located on Bangla Sahib Road in Connaught Place, Delhi, was constructed on September 3, 2024. The seven-story building boasts modern amenities, including 50 guest rooms, suites for the Governor, Chief Minister, Chief Justice, and Chief Secretary, and special rooms for VVIPs. The building, built at a cost of over 100 crore rupees, has a total site area of 2808 square meters and features 45 guest rooms, 18 suite rooms, and 2 VVIP suites. There are 16 VIP suites on the fifth and sixth floors, and two VVIP suites are reserved for the Chief Minister and Governor on the seventh floor.
