The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting significant rainfall and thunderstorms across various states in the coming days. Heavy rain is anticipated in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe from June 10th to 13th. Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, and Interior Karnataka are also expected to experience torrential rain during the same period (June 11th-13th).
Today, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands may see intense downpours. Light to moderate showers are forecast for Northeast India over the next week. Additional regions expecting rain include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya (June 10th-13th), Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura (June 11th-13th), Madhya Pradesh (June 8th), Vidarbha (until June 9th), Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands (June 8th-11th), Gangetic West Bengal (June 11th), and Bihar & Jharkhand (June 10th-13th).
A heatwave alert has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh (June 9th-11th). East Uttar Pradesh and north Madhya Pradesh can expect a heatwave on June 9th & 10th, while West Rajasthan will be affected from June 8th-11th. Hot and humid conditions are likely in Odisha (June 7th-9th) and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on June 8th.
