In a shocking incident in Jharkhand’s Khunti district, two friends riding a motorcycle were attacked by assailants late Friday night. One youth was killed on the spot, while the other was seriously injured. Police arrived at the scene following information from villagers, took possession of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem. A search for the attackers has commenced.
The incident occurred near the Kochadih village when the two friends were returning from the Saiko weekly market. The attackers threw chili powder into their eyes near a secluded culvert, causing them to lose control and fall off the bike. Subsequently, the assailants, riding on two other motorcycles, attacked Choyta Sarukad with a sharp weapon, resulting in his death.
Singa Munda, the other youth, sustained serious injuries. The attackers fled the scene. Villagers discovered the scene late at night and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital, where Choyta Sarukad was pronounced dead. Murhu Police immediately reached the hospital and initiated an investigation, registering a case based on the injured youth’s statement. Police have assured that the perpetrators will be apprehended soon.
