The East Singhbhum district has initiated a special awareness campaign against prohibited narcotics, as directed by the state government. Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi flagged off an awareness chariot at the Collectorate complex, designed to disseminate the message of freedom from drug addiction throughout the district. This chariot will travel across various blocks in the district, educating people about the adverse effects of substance abuse. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner administered an anti-drug oath to all officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He emphasized that drug addiction affects not only an individual’s health but also their future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical health issues. The Deputy Commissioner called upon every section of society to participate in this campaign and contribute to creating a drug-free society. He urged citizens to actively participate in the campaign and to raise awareness among those around them about the dangers of drugs. The district administration aims to spread the message of freedom from drug addiction across the district through this campaign, inspiring everyone to stay away from its harmful effects. The special campaign will run from June 10 to June 26, 2025, featuring various awareness programs to educate people about the consequences of drug use.
