The Consulate General of India in Vancouver has confirmed the death of Tanya Tyagi, an Indian student studying at the University of Calgary in Canada. Hailing from Delhi, Ms. Tyagi’s passing was announced with condolences and a promise of assistance to her family. The cause of death remains unconfirmed. An unverified social media post from Ishu Tyagi suggests she died from a heart attack on June 17th, with her family seeking assistance from the Prime Minister’s Office to repatriate her remains. Tanya’s LinkedIn profile indicates she was pursuing a Master’s in Food Safety and Quality and had a BTech degree. She had experience in retail sales and as a quality assurance intern. This incident follows the recent death of another Indian student, Vanshika Saini, in Ottawa, adding to concerns about the safety and well-being of Indian students abroad.
