Comedian Vir Das is set to release his latest stand-up special, ‘Vir Das: Fool Volume,’ on Netflix on July 18th. This marks his seventh collaboration with the streaming platform. Das revealed that the special is his most personal work yet, born out of unforeseen circumstances. Originally, a different theme was planned, but two months prior to the scheduled performance, Das lost his voice. This setback forced him to rewrite the entire show without speaking and perform it across the world without any rehearsals. Das shared that the experience led him to realize the voice in his head was far crazier than the one in his throat. The special explores themes of sharing happiness and truly using one’s voice.
Previously, Das’s 2022 special ‘Vir Das: Landing’ won him an International Emmy Award for Best Comedy Series. He will also be the first Indian host of the International Emmy Awards in 2024. Das has also appeared in Bollywood films such as Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone, and Badmaash Company. He is also set to become an author, with his memoir The Outsider: A Memoir For Misfits, scheduled for release in November 2025. Presently, Das is touring 33 countries with his Mind Fool world tour.
