Shambhu Singh, an active member of the extremist organization TSPC (Third Presentation Committee), has been apprehended by the police. He was in the Chhatarpur area to collect levy. Investigations revealed his involvement in an encounter between the police and the TSPC during the assembly elections. He was part of Zonal Commander Shashikant’s squad. DSP Awadh Kumar Yadav of Chhatarpur stated that on October 24, 2024, during a police operation related to the assembly elections, information was received by the Superintendent of Police Palamu, Rishma Rameshan, indicating that TSPC’s Zonal Commander Shashikant Ganjhu, along with his squad, had gathered in the forested hilly areas of Turidag, Chhatarpur police station area, with the intention of carrying out a major incident. When the police team conducted a raid, an encounter occurred between the TSPC and the police, during which several items, including Naxalite pamphlets, were seized. However, the extremists managed to escape into the dense forest due to the police’s increasing pressure. Following this, the police received information that Shambhu Singh, an active member of the TSPC, had arrived from Palwa Tola, Morchwa, Chhatarpur, to collect levy money. The police took swift action and arrested him. DSP Awadh mentioned that two mobile phones were recovered from the arrested Naxalite, Shambhu Singh, and he has a criminal history. A case was registered against him under Section 17 CLA Arms Act in Manatu police station on May 17, 2025. A case was also registered on May 20, 2024, under Naxalite activity and Arms Act in the Naudiha Bazar police station, while cases were registered against him in the Vishrampur, Rehla, and Chhatarpur police stations under Section 17 CLA and Arms Act, for which the police were searching for him. The operation included Station In-charge Prashant Prasad, Sub-Inspector Sushil Uraon, Anil Rajak, Ramnarayan Vishwakarma from the technical branch, along with the armed forces personnel of Chhatarpur police station.
