On the third day of the India versus England Test match, England appeared to gain momentum, fueled by a quick half-century from Harry Brook, the world’s number 2 ranked batsman, after being dropped earlier by India’s vice-captain, Rishabh Pant. Jamie Smith was also playing well. India desperately needed a breakthrough. After narrowly avoiding a catch on the previous ball, Smith was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna’s delivery, which was caught by Ravindra Jadeja and Sai Sudarshan at the boundary. Earlier in the match, Rishabh Pant had dropped Harry Brook on 46, which allowed him to score his 12th Test century. India’s fielding performance also saw Ravindra Jadeja drop Ben Duckett and other missed chances. Duckett and Ollie Pope then capitalized on these opportunities, forming a 122-run partnership that brought England back into the game.
