Indian Railways will implement revised fare structures starting July 1, 2025. The changes primarily affect long-distance and AC class passengers. Suburban rail commuters and those using monthly season tickets will not experience any fare increases. Ordinary second-class fares remain unchanged for distances up to 500 km. For travel beyond 500 km, a small increase of approximately half a paise per kilometer will apply. Non-AC Mail/Express trains will see a hike of 1 paise per kilometer. AC classes, including Chair Car, 3-Tier, 2-Tier, and First Class AC, will incur a fare increase of 2 paise per kilometer. These adjustments are intended to offset operational costs without impacting daily commuters significantly. Tickets booked for travel on or after July 1, 2025, will reflect the new fare structure.
