Tamil-Telugu actor Srikanth, also known as Sriram, has been remanded to judicial custody until July 7th by the Chennai Police. The arrest followed a positive drug test and the discovery of suspicious financial transactions on his phone. Police investigations reportedly linked Srikanth to a drug network, leading to his subsequent appearance before a magistrate and his incarceration. Srikanth is expected to file a bail plea. The actor was summoned for questioning by the Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) and allegedly admitted to purchasing cocaine approximately 40 times, spending a total of Rs 4.72 lakh via Google Pay. His blood test at a government hospital confirmed the presence of narcotics. The case originated from the arrest of a former AIADMK IT wing member, Prasad, after a pub brawl, where Srikanth was implicated as a regular customer. Another individual, Pradeep, also provided testimony, alleging that he witnessed Srikanth using drugs at various club events, identifying Prasad as the supplier. Srikanth’s career began in 1999 with the TV show Jannal – Marabu Kavithaigal and his film debut in 2002 with Roja Kootam.
