Kia is preparing a significant update for the Seltos, with a recent sighting of a test vehicle showcasing the changes. The test mule, heavily camouflaged, hinted at new headlights and front fascia modifications. The refreshed Seltos, as reported, is expected to join the lineup early next year. The exterior updates draw inspiration from the EV9 and Syros, featuring an extended wheelbase and design cues like a concave grill and revised bumper elements. The rear is also expected to receive a redesign, likely incorporating a continuous light bar. Interior upgrades are planned, with the dashboard and overall cabin design expected to reflect styling elements from higher-end Kia models. Kia is anticipated to retain the existing engine options for the facelifted model, including a 115Hp 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol, a 160Hp 1.5-liter turbo petrol, and a 116Hp 1.5-liter diesel engine. Furthermore, a new hybrid powertrain is likely to be introduced, potentially electrifying the 1.5-liter NA petrol engine. The Seltos facelift will compete with rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Tata Curvv. While the launch of the new Hyundai Creta is slated for 2027, the Kia Seltos facelift could potentially launch beforehand. If the Seltos debuts with a hybrid powertrain, the Hyundai Creta might adopt a similar system.
