Prime Minister Narendra Modi was bestowed with the title of ‘Dharma Chakravarti’ during the centenary celebrations of Jain saint Acharya Shri 108 Vidyanand Ji Maharaj. PM Modi, while accepting the honor, stated that he felt unworthy of the title but would embrace it as a blessing and dedicate it to the nation. The celebrations mark a year-long tribute, organized by the Union Culture Ministry in collaboration with the Bhagwan Mahaveer Ahimsa Bharti Trust. The event also commemorated the date in 1987 when Acharya Vidyanand Muniraj received his title, symbolizing the connection between Jain culture and principles of restraint and compassion. Commemorative postage stamps were also unveiled during the ceremony. PM Modi highlighted India’s ancient cultural heritage, attributing its longevity to its enduring ideas and philosophy, rooted in the wisdom of sages and saints. The centenary year will feature various initiatives across India, promoting Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj’s teachings on community engagement, youth involvement, and interfaith dialogue. These programs aim to ensure his message resonates with future generations.
