In a significant operation, Sonipat’s Anti-Gangster Unit, Crime Branch Sector 7, successfully apprehended wanted criminal Ravi alias Lamba. The arrest followed a shootout on Friday night on the Barona bypass of Kharkhoda, where Ravi sustained a leg injury. He was immediately taken to CHC Kharkhoda for treatment. A combined reward of Rs 45,000 was announced for his capture by Delhi and Haryana Police. Ravi was wanted in connection with FIR No. 525, dated September 16, 2024, which includes charges under sections of the BNS and the Arms Act. He was absconding after violating parole. During the arrest, authorities recovered a 32-bore pistol and a motorcycle. Ravi is implicated in approximately 18 serious cases, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, and robbery. He was also a suspect in the murder of Brijesh, the brother of gangster Ravi Munia. Investigations revealed Ravi’s association with the Rajesh Bawana gang, where he was involved in activities such as threats and extortion. Haryana Police had offered a Rs 20,000 reward, while Delhi Police offered Rs 25,000. Senior Sonipat police officials arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Ravi is currently under police guard in the hospital, and interrogation is underway. The police are investigating his network and other potential criminal activities, with plans to present him in court and seek remand for further investigation.
