The Kotia Rath Yatra witnessed the presence of Odisha ministers and Congress leaders as they joined devotees in the annual chariot procession. The event, held in the village under Pottangi block of Koraput district, marked a significant display of unity and cultural celebration. The Jagannath temple in Kotia, established in 2002, serves to promote Jagannath culture and foster a sense of belonging among the local tribal communities. A delegation of state ministers, including Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, participated in the festivities. Congress leaders Rama Chandra Kadam and Tara Prasad Bahinipati also joined the celebrations, engaging with the community and participating in traditional dances. The Deputy CM emphasized the government’s commitment to the region’s development, with Pujari highlighting the state’s support for the Kotia community, particularly in the face of ongoing disputes with a neighboring state.
