During a Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting in the US, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar emphasized the need for the world to adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. He stated that victims of terrorism and the perpetrators should never be equated. The meeting, held at the US Department of State, included US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Takeshi Iwaya, and Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong. Jaishankar highlighted India’s right to defend itself against terrorism, expecting understanding and appreciation from Quad partners. He also reaffirmed the commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific region, promoting a rules-based international order to ensure freedom of choice for nations in the region. India plans to host the next Quad Summit and is preparing proposals to make it productive, expecting collaborative discussions with its partners.
