The entire country is under the influence of the southwest monsoon, leading to widespread rainfall across the nation. Several states are experiencing heavy downpours. The last day of June saw good rainfall in the capital city, Delhi, while the first day of July was marked by heat and humidity. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that Delhi and surrounding areas are likely to experience rain again.
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in Delhi until July 7. Furthermore, eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and western Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, with extremely heavy rainfall in some places.
Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Odisha. The IMD has forecasted heavy rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh for six to seven days. Heavy rain is also expected in Sikkim, Bihar, and West Bengal. The monsoon will remain active in northwest, east, and central India during this period.
Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat are also expected to receive rainfall. Heavy rainfall is likely in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh until July 7. Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh may witness heavy rainfall from July 5-7. Uttar Pradesh is also likely to experience heavy rainfall until July 5. Himachal Pradesh is expected to receive heavy rainfall today and from July 5-7. Several areas in northwest India can expect heavy rainfall for the next 7 days.
Rainfall is also expected in South India. Telangana is expected to receive rainfall today, Kerala from today until July 5, and Karnataka from today until July 7. Strong winds (40-50 kmph) are expected in the southern peninsular India for the next seven days. Thunderstorms are expected in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, with light to moderate rainfall.
