A woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her in-laws’ house in Phusro, Bokaro. According to reports, Lalita Devi, the wife of Vijay Sharma, son of Mathura Sharma residing near the Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir School in Chalkari North Panchayat, Petarwar police station area, was found dead in her room. While the in-laws claimed she committed suicide by hanging herself, the deceased’s brother has accused them of murder. The brother, Tej Lal Thakur, and other family members have alleged that the in-laws killed Lalita and hanged her from a fan. The local police (Petarwar Police Station) were informed of the incident, and police forces from Petarwar, Kasmar, and Jaridih police stations arrived at the scene. The police have taken possession of the body and initiated an investigation. The deceased’s family has demanded action against the in-laws, accusing them of murder. Police assured the deceased’s family members that action would be taken against those found guilty after investigation. Lalita’s body was sent to Tenughat for a post-mortem. Kasmar Police Station in-charge, Bhajan Lal Mahato, stated that the cause of death would be determined after the post-mortem report is received. After the incident, when the deceased’s family reached the spot, an altercation occurred with the in-laws, following which the in-laws were not seen at the scene. Sub-Inspector Mahavir Ekka, Narayan Singh Wanra of Petarwar Police Station, Kasmar Police Station in-charge Bhajanlal Mahato, Jaridih Police Station in-charge Vipin Kumar Mahato, along with other police personnel, were present at the scene.
