Khunti Police have arrested three active members of the banned PLFI extremist organization following a raid in the Baksapur Jhanda Tongri forest under the Jariagarh police station. The arrested individuals include Gendra Barla alias Laden (28), a resident of Baksapur Station Toli under Jariagarh police station; Asim Topno (20), a resident of Ramtolaya Mahua Toli village under Kamdara police station in Gumla district; and Ajit Topno alias Duda (26). The police recovered a country-made pistol, two live bullets, PLFI pamphlets, and mobile phones from their possession. Superintendent of Police, Manish Toppo, informed the press that they had received a tip-off that the PLFI members were gathering in the Baksapur Jhanda Tongri forest to carry out an incident. A raid was conducted by a team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Christopher Kerketta, leading to the arrest of the three individuals along with weapons, ammunition, and PLFI pamphlets. They have been sent to judicial custody. The SP also stated that the arrested individuals were involved in the burning of a road roller on May 26 near Ramjay village under the Rania police station. During preliminary questioning, they admitted to burning the road roller to create terror. It was also revealed that Gendra Barla alias Laden has a criminal history, including a case under the Arms Act registered in 2020 at the Karra police station. He was arrested and jailed in that case, but after being released, he rejoined the PLFI organization and was involved in its expansion. The raiding team included Torpa SDPO, Torpa Circle Inspector Ashok Kumar Singh, Jariagarh Police Station in-charge Raju Kumar, Rania Police Station in-charge Vikas Kumar Jaiswal, Karra Police Station in-charge Manish Kumar, Jariagarh Police Station SI Kuldeep Roshan Bari, and Manish Kumar, along with armed forces personnel.
