In Palamu district of Jharkhand, the Maiya Samman Yojana has provided financial assistance to 349,080 women. A total of 87.27 crore rupees were disbursed to the beneficiaries through the treasury. The funds, amounting to 2500 rupees per beneficiary, began to reflect in the recipients’ bank accounts starting Friday, bringing smiles to their faces. Previously, the funds for April were disbursed in June. The Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security has allocated 559 crore rupees for this scheme, covering five months. The funds are being distributed to beneficiaries whose bank accounts are linked to Aadhaar and have the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) option enabled. In March, a sum equivalent to three months’ worth of installments (7500 rupees) was disbursed to the beneficiaries.
