A tragic road accident in the Chhatarpur area of Palamu district, Jharkhand, resulted in the death of three laborers and injuries to numerous others. The incident occurred on NH-98 near Ramgarh when a pickup truck carrying over 30 people, including men, women, and children, overturned after hitting a divider. The laborers were en route from the Garhwa district to Karhagar village in Rohtas, Bihar, to work. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Following the crash, the injured were rushed to a local hospital, and later, serious cases were referred to Medininagar MMCH for advanced treatment. The MMCH faced a power outage for about half an hour, and treatment was rendered in the dark due to the absence of a generator operator. The police arrived at the scene and took possession of the bodies for post-mortem examination.
