Police have arrested Kiran Kujur, the wife of Julius Praveen Toppo, and her lover Godwin Tirkey in connection with the murder of Julius, a resident of Zone Number-6 in Birsanagar. The incident dates back to February 24, 2023, when Julius was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Julius’s mother, Julia Toppo, had filed a case against Kiran Kujur, Godwin Tirkey, and others, alleging murder. According to Julia, Kiran and Godwin were in an illicit relationship, which led to constant fights between the couple. They had filed for divorce and agreed on a settlement of Rs 10 lakh. Julius had already paid Kiran Rs 5 lakh as the first installment through a demand draft and was due to pay the remaining amount soon. On February 23, 2023, Julius was found unconscious and was declared dead by doctors upon arrival at the hospital.
