Youth Congress leader Ashish Shinde has been arrested. The arrest is linked to allegations of helping KK Srivastava, a tantrik and close associate of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, evade capture. Srivastava was apprehended after months of police investigation for his involvement in a multi-crore scam. During interrogation, Srivastava implicated Shinde in his escape plan. This marks the second major arrest in the case, following Srivastava’s arrest. Srivastava is accused of defrauding people of crores of rupees during the previous Congress government’s tenure. He has allegedly provided information about transactions worth 300 crore rupees and details of his properties to the investigating agency. Shinde is accused of assisting Srivastava in his attempt to flee, including providing transportation and arranging for tickets for some individuals in exchange for money. Srivastava admitted to defrauding people across the country through mule bank accounts and also revealed that he distributed cash to several prominent political figures. However, the police have yet to find any documentary evidence to support these claims.
