A landslide, triggered by heavy rainfall, has caused disruption on the Rudraprayag-Badrinath route. Restoration work is currently in progress to clear the debris and restore traffic flow. One passenger, Dilpreet, en route to Rishikesh, reported being stranded for approximately four hours due to the blockage. He described the scene as being blocked by stones and debris. Cranes have been deployed to the site to facilitate the clearing of the route. This incident follows a cloudburst near Mukh village, close to Nandprayag Ghat in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on July 8th. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) confirmed that no casualties have been reported. An SDRF team has been dispatched to assess the situation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the subsequent four days. Earlier, the Kedarnath Dham Yatra in Rudraprayag district was temporarily halted due to a landslide that damaged the pedestrian track near Chhodi Gadhere, about one kilometre ahead of Gaurikund.
