Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya has strongly criticized China’s military exercises near Taiwan, deeming them detrimental to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. Speaking during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Iwaya’s remarks reflect a growing regional resistance to Beijing’s military actions. The Japanese government reiterated its opposition to any attempts to unilaterally change the status quo through force. Iwaya also voiced concerns about China’s actions in the South China Sea, reinforcing Japan’s apprehension over Beijing’s expansionist policies. Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has echoed Japan’s concerns, highlighting the threat posed by China’s military intimidation.
