A murder case involving an illicit affair has emerged from the Dhamtari district. A woman, a mother of two, is accused of orchestrating her husband’s murder after engaging in an affair and becoming pregnant by her boyfriend. The crime, however, was exposed thanks to the rains. The entire investigation, which led to the unveiling of this dark crime, was carried out by a team led by Konda Gaon SP Akshay Kumar and ASP Kaushalendra Dev Patel.
According to police reports, on June 30th, the body of an unidentified man was discovered in suspicious circumstances in the forest of village Mageda. Preliminary investigations revealed that it was a case of murder, leading to the registration of a case and the formation of a special investigation team. The police found a prescription in the deceased’s pants. This prescription revealed that the deceased, identified as Dharmveer, had visited a hospital in Tamil Nadu on June 27th for treatment. He was originally a resident of Nagari, Dhamtari district. Hospital records further indicated that on June 27th, his friend, Videsh Markam, had taken him from the hospital under the pretext of further treatment.
Instead of taking him to Nagari, Markam took him to Raygarh, Odisha. There, he purchased a cricket bat and petrol. He then led him into the forest, where he murdered him. During the incident, the accused had intoxicated the victim with alcohol.
The suspects attempted to conceal Dharmveer’s identity by burning the body, but the rain prevented the complete incineration. While searching the body’s clothing, the police found a burnt yellow anti-rabies hospital slip with the deceased’s name. Contact was made with the Dharampuri Hospital in Tamil Nadu based on the anti-rabies vaccine schedule card found with the deceased.
The police arrested Ravnina Nagarachi (the deceased’s wife) and her boyfriend, Videsh Markam, for planning and executing the murder. Interrogation revealed that the accused is 2.5 months pregnant, and this pregnancy was the result of her relationship with her boyfriend. She had two children with her husband, a 5-year-old daughter, and a 2.5-year-old son. After the incident, the police examined the deceased’s wife’s mobile details and discovered that she used to talk to her lover for hours every day, and after the incident, the accused lover kept changing his mobile number. The Konda Gaon police have now arrested both the accused and sent them to jail.
