CPI leader Chandu Rathod was fatally shot in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning while on a walk. The attack occurred around 7:30 AM at Shalivahana Nagar Park in Malakpet, where unidentified assailants ambushed him. According to initial reports from authorities, the assailants, numbering three to four, arrived in a swift car, used chilli powder, and opened fire. Rathod died at the scene. Police have launched a murder investigation, examining CCTV footage and other evidence. The victim’s family has revealed a dispute with a CPI-ML leader. Rathod was a long-time member of the Communist Party of India (CPI).
