Significant parts of Navi Mumbai experienced severe waterlogging on Tuesday due to intense rainfall. This resulted in extensive traffic snarls, causing considerable inconvenience to commuters and office-goers across various areas of the city. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the districts of Raigad, Thane, and Ratnagiri, indicating the severity of the weather conditions. Flight operations were also affected by the heavy downpour, leading to delays and disruptions. Several subways were temporarily closed due to water accumulation. IndiGo airline issued a travel advisory, warning of potential flight schedule disruptions in Mumbai and advising passengers to allow extra time for their journeys. The Mumbai Traffic Police also alerted citizens via social media, informing them about the closure of the Andheri Subway due to waterlogging and the subsequent traffic diversions.
