The third day of the monsoon session saw a heated debate in the House. Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Charan Das Mahant, raised concerns about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The response from Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma to Dr. Mahant’s queries sparked outrage among the Congress MLAs. Dr. Charan Das Mahant questioned the progress under the PM Awas Yojana (Rural), asking whether a house is considered complete after payment, or if it’s considered finished even without the construction of a toilet. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma responded by stating that the third installment is paid after the lintel level is reached, which is followed by payment within 90 days, and the work is considered complete at the end. He added that the current government under Vishnu Deo Sai has disbursed all payments.
