In a brazen act of robbery, a businessman in the Dumka district of Jharkhand was held at gunpoint and looted of ₹7 lakh. The incident occurred on Monday night in Arichuwa village, under the Gopeekandar police station. Masked assailants, arriving on motorcycles, targeted the home-based grocery store and hotel of the victim, identified as Naveen Rai. After initially requesting a cigarette, the robbers brandished a pistol, threatening the family and taking them hostage. They then proceeded to ransack the premises, stealing cash, jewelry, goods from the store, and even petrol. Police are investigating the incident, suspecting the involvement of individuals who frequented the hotel, and are working to apprehend the perpetrators.
