US President Donald Trump indicated on Wednesday that a trade agreement with India is close, mentioning that negotiations are currently underway. Speaking during a bilateral meeting with Bahrain’s Crown Prince, Trump highlighted the significance of August 1st for financial gains in the US. He stated that significant funds are expected to enter the country, referencing deals made with various countries. Trump emphasized that the US is “very close to a deal with India” that would provide market access. Earlier, Trump also announced a new trade deal with Indonesia, offering reduced tariffs. Further, he noted that the US is gaining access to markets previously unavailable due to the use of tariffs. The announcement aligns with ongoing bilateral trade talks between India and the United States, as per the directives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Trump.
