Demonstrators in Israel have called for a comprehensive agreement to end the ongoing conflict and secure the release of all hostages held in Gaza, including both the living and the deceased. They are urging former US President Donald Trump to intervene, displaying banners that implore him to broker another significant deal. Simultaneously, Donald Trump indicated that the release of an additional ten hostages from Gaza is expected “very shortly,” amidst ongoing ceasefire negotiations in Doha between Israeli and Hamas delegations. Trump acknowledged his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, for his involvement in the negotiations. The talks, which have been ongoing since July 6, involve a US-backed proposal for a 60-day ceasefire. Hamas has cautioned that future interim truces will not be considered unless a comprehensive deal is reached in the current negotiations. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has condemned the international community for its inaction as the humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorates, highlighting the need for immediate action to end US support for Israel’s military actions.
