Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the state’s commitment to achieving a developed India and a developed Chhattisgarh, highlighting the importance of active participation from all segments of society. Sai was speaking at the closing ceremony of the World Youth Skill Festival 2025 held at Rungta University in Bhilai. He lauded the event, calling it a landmark occasion.
The Chief Minister noted that the Gold Book of World Records team certified the training provided to 8183 participants within a week, with the institution receiving its certificate. He congratulated the Rungta University management for organizing this free and unprecedented event, stating the state government’s dedication to making the youth self-reliant and skilled.
Sai highlighted the expansion of higher education institutions during Dr. Raman Singh’s tenure, mentioning the presence of 15 medical colleges, IITs, IIMs, Triple ITs, CIPET, AIIMS, and Law University in the state. He added that both education and health sectors have seen remarkable achievements. He mentioned concrete efforts to establish good governance in the past year and a half, with most services being digitized to combat corruption and increase revenue.
Sai also pointed out that Chhattisgarh is rich in mineral resources and that the participation of every citizen is essential for its self-reliance. He attributed the Skill India Mission to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recalling that India was the 10th-largest economy when the mission began and has since risen to fourth place in a decade.
The Chief Minister praised the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, saying it is very useful and provides economic incentives along with experience, opening new doors of opportunity for the youth. He informed about the state government’s new industrial policy, which provides special opportunities for young people, including grants for industries employing over a thousand local youths.
Sai commended private institutions, particularly Rungta University, for partnering with the state government to develop Chhattisgarh as a skill hub. He congratulated the participants and the university family on this historic achievement.
The World Youth Skill Festival 2025 at Rungta University, Bhilai, marked a historic step toward making Chhattisgarh a skill hub. The event provided online skills training to 8183 youths. Certificates were awarded to 25 selected participants by the Chief Minister. Joint degree programs were launched in collaboration with Google, IBM, and the International Council. MOUs were signed between Harvard and Cambridge universities. The World Book of Records confirmed the record for training the most participants in one week.
Also present were MP Vijay Baghel and MLA Rikesh Sen, who also addressed the event and praised the historic organization, calling it a revolutionary step towards making young people globally competitive. Santosh Rungta, Vice-Chancellor of Rungta University, provided insights into the university’s activities and said the institution is working with the state government to make Chhattisgarh a global skill hub.
